C223 Grass Warrior

3The broken and tall armor followed the human male named Apache as they walked through the jungle.

Although Du Kang was a little unhappy that he was inexplicably treated as a ghost, he still admired this human called Apache.

Being able to shoulder the responsibility of the family was a sign of maturity for a man. He didn't forget to take responsibility for his family even when facing a scary ghost. Although Apache didn't seem like a big shot, he was still a good man.

Du Kang didn't mind giving him a chance to live in the face of such a brave man, but was he really that scary?

Du Kang clearly felt that his current appearance was quite handsome, just like those super warriors in the manga he had seen before - he was even a damaged version.

Du Kang did have the idea of following Apache to find the nearest human settlement, but that was only a part of it. More importantly, he wanted to help this man. He would know after looking at Apache's equipment. When he came out to hunt, he didn't even have a bow and arrow. He only had a spear. He was still traveling alone. Rather than saying that he was here to hunt, it's more like adding food to those beasts.

A man who was brave enough to bear the responsibility was worthy of respect, so he had to at least give him a way out.

Du Kang did not want to insult this man's self-reliance dignity, but as long as this man was willing to work hard, Du Kang had ways to make him raise his own family.

————————

Carrying a female lion, Apache walked out of the forest with a sad face.

The undead did not lie. It said that it was just looking. However, after that undead followed him, Apache found that those wild beasts who would run away whenever they saw humans were charging at him like crazy. This wasn't a good thing. He only needed to look at the wounds on Apache's body to know.

The spear had long been broken, turning into a short spear, and then a dagger. After he finally could not help but shout that it was enough, the wild beasts seemed to suddenly open their apertures again and quickly escaped.

He knew very well that all of this must have something to do with that Undead. But after looking back at that undead, Apache finally knew how rich the hunting this time was.

Two deer were carried on the shoulders of the tall Undead, a wild boar and a deer were held under the armpits of the Undead, a lion and a leopard were held in the hands of the Undead. And under Apache's feet, there was still a dead female lion lying.

A great harvest.

The problem of the family had been solved. With so many prey, it would be enough to last until next year's harvest - - they could even leave a deer or a wild boar for the children to grow.

But... an even bigger problem came.

Glancing at the tall armor full of prey beside him, Apache's face was as black as the bottom of a pot.

The undead also followed.

He did not want to bring the Undead back to the village. Although the Undead did not show any aggressive behavior, god knows if the Undead was pretending to be him. However, he could not do anything about it. He could not defeat the Undead.

Moreover, the Undead carried the hope of his entire family for the past year.

He could only go back. At least, he had to bring back the prey. Apache remembered that those elders who flew leaves all day had also displayed some strange methods, such as controlling insects, or turning deer into a frog for a short period of time. Then they must have some understanding about the same mysterious undead.

They could only place their hopes on them.

Carrying the lion, he embarked on his way home.

Just now, he had already prayed to all the gods he knew, hoping that nothing would go wrong.

————————

Throwing away the prey on his body. Du Kang looked at the old man who suddenly came out of the village.

When he approached the village just now, the man called Apache suddenly howled. Even the translation framework was unable to decipher the meaning of the howl. But right after that, the old man ran out of the village with a group of people.

The old man wore a headpiece made of feathers and cow horns on his head. His face was smeared with red and black paint, and he wore clothes with strange patterns on his body. However, these were not things that Du Kang cared about.

Du Kang's gaze focused on the old man's left foot.

The old man's left foot was a snake.

This is...

"Oh, this." Seemingly noticing Du Kang's doubt, the old man chuckled, "I was a priest when I was young."

"Disperse, disperse!" The old man waved at the vigilant crowd behind him. "It's not the undead! Go back!"

"And you..." The old man walked closer and slapped Apache's head. "What are you screaming for? You don't know anything! When did death spirits come out to see the sun?"

"If they are not undead, what are they?"

Apache explained in a low voice.

"This..."

The old man choked and looked at Du Kang carefully.

"My name is Kang Du." Du Kang introduced himself, "I am a lost traveler. I have some things I want to ask you."

"Gondor..." The old man looked at Du Kang carefully. "You are not a human, are you?"

Du Kang was stunned.

"I am not a god, the old man said. ... I can't tell." The old man scratched his head, "But since you're here, you're a guest."

"Apache!" The old man shouted.

"Hurry up and bring the guest in!"

————————

In the small courtyard, Du Kang sat on the ground and silently looked at the few old men who were spraying smoke in front of him.

The reception was not complicated. After Du Kang suggested not to disturb the people, the old man with the left foot, snake, brought him to the small courtyard.

After taking out the stack of paintings, Du Kang received good news. This old man indeed knew these paintings, but he needed to hold a ceremony before he could distinguish what was drawn on them.

As expected, liu's luck would be pretty good if he passed the test before coming out.

Thus, Du Kang could only sit there and watch as the six old men held the paintings and sprayed out clouds of smoke.

The second-hand smoke from the old men gave Du Kang a headache. Du Kang, who used to smoke, did not really care about these things. However, these old men did not smoke ordinary tobacco.

Du Kang could tell that these old men were smoking hemp grass.

The so-called ceremony was to gather people to smoke? Were these old men really reliable?

"Customer, do you want to try?" An old man seemed to have noticed Du Kang's gaze and handed over the tobacco pipe in his hand, "This is a human treasure. It can let you feel the world of God."

"No need, no need." Du Kang waved his hand repeatedly, "Don't be so polite. I'll just watch."

Du Kang did not want to touch this. Those who came out could not gamble or poison. He did not want to fly into the sky with these old men.

"Got it!"

The old man with the left foot, snake, narrowed his eyes and patted the painting in his hand.

"I got it!"

Hmm?

Du Kang was stunned.

These old men could really tell?

"This..." The old man with the left foot, who was a snake, shook his head. "This thing is..."

"It's corn!"
