Chasing After My Wife

TALK WITH VALKYRIE

TALK WITH VALKYRIE

1Valkyrie realized all his shortcomings. In fact, it was his cowardice that kept him from facing the truth.      3

Brown stayed beside from the beginning despite what happened. It was him who's got a problem. Not the other way around.

He immediately stood up from his bed and took a cold shower. Beers wouldn't really make him drunk. He'd just feel dizzy but after a rest, he'll gain his vigor once again.

He walked out of his room and went downstairs to get some food. Seeing Jillyanna sitting on the sofa alone with her phone, he apologized.

"I'm sorry for causing inconvenience to you."

Jillyanna turned towards him and smiled. "Not at all."

"Where are they?" Valkyrie asked when he noticed that no one's around.

"Travis is currently cleaning my small rooms. Savannah and Hawk went out to buy some stuff."

"I see. I'll get something to eat. Do you want anything?"

"Nope. Just take care of yourself."

Valkyrie nodded and left to eat. Even though the house was quiet, it has a warm atmosphere. Unlike before, it was like a beautiful haunted house. Cold and lifeless.

After a while later, Travis came out from Jillyanna's little rooms with the cleaning materials. She was supposed to do the cleaning because it was her personal belonging that contained sentimental values but, Travis stopped her and suggested himself to do it instead.

"Are you done?" Jillyanna asked while walking towards her little rooms. She saw how neatly everything was arranged and how tidy the picture frames were. A smile formed on her lips. "Thank you."

"Do I have a prize?" Travis threw a wink at her which made her laugh.

"Thanks again." She kissed his face and walked with a red face. Even if they've been staying together for a while now, she still got embarrassed when it comes to some certain things like kissing him.

Travis just smiled while watching her go back to the couch. He closed the rooms and returned the cleaning materials to the storage room behind the kitchen.

Just as he was about to go back inside, his phone rang. He fished it out from his pocket and answered it.

"Travis speaking." he announced and waited for the other person to speak.

"Mr. Madrigal, we've finished the investigation and the result will be sent tomorrow morning."

"Can you tell your men to send it at around 10 o'clock? I won't be free until that time." It was because Jillyanna usually wakes up at 9 o'clock and he needed to stay beside her.

"Okay Mr. Madrigal." That's it and the call ended. Travis put his phone back in his pocket and went back inside the house.

Valkyrie just finished eating and was walking back to his room when Travis stopped him.

"Let's talk for a while." Travis said and gestured him to get inside the study room before facing Jillyanna. "Do you want to stay here or would you like to stay in the study room?"

Knowing it's something personal to Valkyrie, Jillyanna refused him. "I'm fine here. Just go ahead and talk to him."

"Okay. I'll be right back." Travis kissed her forehead and jogged upstairs. He went to the study room where Valkyrie was sitting on a windowsill.

"I hope you've understood your situation now." Travis spoke as he walk to the huge study table. He pulled out a laptop and opened it.

Valkyrie was still looking up at the dark sky which was glittered with stars. His face looked sad and regretful but he remained silent.

When the laptop was completely turned on, displaying different applications, Travis connected his phone and typed different codes. Multiple dialog box popped out and he sorted them out, downloading some things and saved it on a separated hard drive.

After a minute, Travis disconnected his phone. "Come here. I'll show you something."

That's when Valkyrie finally moved and went to him. On a computer screen was a red blinking dot.

"What's this?" Valkyrie asked. He checked the map and it was very far from Jillyanna's house. It would probably take him a day to drive there.

"Brown." Travis answered.

"Huh?" Valkyrie was still confused since his attention was elsewhere.

"I said this is where you can find Brown. The red dot is from the device I placed on his watch. As long as he won't throw the watch I gave him, you will be able to find him."

"Since when did you place that tracking device?"

"Since his birthday. I didn't activate it until now."

Valkyrie checked the map again. "Thank you. I'll go and find him."

"Nope. Not now." Travis stopped him. It would be difficult for him if his cousin would slaughter this man. "Let him stay there for a week. After a week, you can go and find him. Give him some space for a while."

"What if something will happen to him within a week?"

"Nothing will happen to him. He's with my cousin and Brown is important to her. She will never let anything bad to befall on him."

This statement alerted Valkyrie instead. Since they were in the military camp, his cousin would always find Brown and he found it really weird. 'No. It can't be.'

He looked at Travis with a complicated gaze. Knowing what he was thinking, Travis couldn't help himself from laughing.

"Don't even lean to that idea you have. My cousin only find Brown as a younger brother that needed protection from you. She didn't like him in any romantic way." Travis told him, still laughing.

Even though Valkyrie was upset, Travis was right. They both needed time to think. It was already a relief that his cousin didn't see Brown romantically. He just nodded and went out after saving the map on his phone.

Travis followed him out as well to check on Jillyanna, only to find her watching some other guy.

She was browsing through different pictures and edited them with. She looked so happy while doing it, making Travis felt jealous.
