Chasing After My Wife

HOUSE EXTENSION MEETING II

HOUSE EXTENSION MEETING II

1One after the other, Travis called on everyone to show their proposals with their respective purpose regarding the construction.

"Let's take a break and have lunch everyone." Travis announced and wrapped up their meeting for now.

Jillyanna was standing beside him with so much eagerness to eat spicy ramen again. "I want two bowls this time."

"We aren't even dare yet. Let'a check the size of their servings before deciding."

"You are right." Jillyanna beamed at him her sweet smile.

Travis frowned and stopped walking. He looked at her carefully and sighed. "You've been smiling at me. Do you need anything or did you do something bad?"

Jillyanna stopped smiling and came closer to him. "Is it weird that I am smiling at you?" she asked.

"Hn. It is." Travis answered. "If you do it for a long time, it is weird."

"Why?"

"Because the wife I know would always frown at me."

"But wife sometimes act sweet with their husband right?" Jillyanna retorted with a pout. She didn't really have any hidden intentions behind her smiles. She just wanted to be a little sweeter around him which would always end up in a frown as well because he would ruin her mood.

Travis looked at her directly in her eyes. Jillyanna felt even more embarrassed with his direct gaze now.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that? What's wrong?"

"You just called yourself my wife." Travis teased her. "Does it mean you accepted me as your husband already?"

"You're getting the wrong idea. I didn't say I'm your wife." Jillyanna responded and walked away from him. "Hurry up! I'm hungry."

Travis followed her silently with a smile. Jillyanna waited for him and they went down together.

Travis brought her to the nearest ramen store for lunch. Flipping through the menu, Jillyanna found that they served big bowls of ramen. So instead of getting two, she only got one.

"Jill, I want us to be a family and I want our child to bare my last name." Travis stated while waiting for their orders.

Jillyanna's eyes go wide and she raised her eyebrows in question. "What are you trying to say?"

"What I'm trying to say is that, I want us to get married." he told her in serious tone.

Jillyanna looked left and right to see if anyone was listening to them. When no one heard what he said, she leaned closer to him and whispered. "Marriage is not a joke Travis. You should think about it carefully. And our country doesn't allow divorce so make sure you think about."

"I've been thinking about this for quite sometime now. I want us to get married."

Jillyanna's heart faltered in its beat and her lips no longer show the sweet smile she had earlier. "Travis, this..this is very sudden for me. I..I honestly need to think about this?"

"You are not thinking of running away from me, are you?"

"No!" she answered with firm conviction. "I'm not thinking of that."

"As long as you're not running away, I'll wait until you want to get married. I hope it's before you give birth."

"Hn. I'll think about it." She was really glad that Travis understood her. He didn't force him to do things his way and he would always ask her permission except the kissing part. There was no permission to it.

Their food arrived and they started eating their ramen. "How's uncle Thomas by the way? We haven't visited him after 'that' incident."

"Dad is doing fine and he wanted us to visit him sometimes which was the reason why I suggested to stay in our place during construction."

"Shall I prepare our things once we get home?" Jillyanna asked with great enthusiasm. She's excited staying over in his place for a change of environment.

Travis nodded his head in agreement. Seeing her happy with the plan, Travis was happy too. He couldn't ask for more as long as he's with her.

They finished eating their food and went back to the company to continue the discussion. Travis made it known to everyone that this house extension was a very important project.

Meanwhile, Hawk and Savannah found the place that they were looking for. It took them three hours to find the place that the farmer found.

The reason why no one found the place was because it was hidden through a reflection. The cave's entrance was covered with artificial vines with small broken mirrors that reflected the surroundings.

Because of it, the place looked ordinary to their eyes and their was no cave on sight. If not for Travis, mentioning the possibility of it being hidden, they wouldn't have thought about it.

They wanted to get inside the cave but they didn't know the hidden traps that's awaiting them. In the end, Hawk added another camera that was facing the cave directly.

"I couldn't find any foot prints here or anything that we can use." Savannah uttered in dismay.

"Not now but soon." Hawk responded with confidence. "Let's go home for now. It's a good lead already that we found the place. Let's try to investigate the victims this time."

"Hn."

They retraced their tracks to go down the mountain, leaving no footprints behind. They still need to go to the police station and retrieve as much information regarding the case.

"Let's ask if they found any similarities between the victims for us to figure out his next target." Savannah commented.

"Are we going to use a bait?" Hawk asked.

"That's the second option. I wanted to get this thing done so we can go on vacation already."

"Where do you want to go?" Hawk asked her when they talk about vacation.

"No idea yet. How about you? Do you have any place you want to go?" Savannah asked him back.

Hawk looked at her, pulled her close and kissed her head. "Wherever you are is where I go. I have promise to always stay with you and I have no intention of backing out."
