Chasing After My Wife

HARMONIOUS COUPLE

HARMONIOUS COUPLE

3Contented with her response, Travis was walking happily beside her towards their car. Valkyrie was having a call when they arrived and it was very obvious who he was talking to since no one can affect him so much except the man who was staying at home with the sore waist.      0

Valkyrie opened the car door while listening to whatever Brown said. They didn't know what they were talking about but Valkyrie was grinning cheekily in front of them.

"Where to?" Valkyrie mouthed to Travis without any signs of putting his phone away.

"Largest mall." Travis responded to him.

Valkyrie nodded his head in acknowledgement and drove out of the parking lot while giving Brown a perfunctory answer to whatever he said.

"I never knew he'd be like this after settling down everything with Evan." Jillyanna whispered to Travis beside her. "He's crazy in love."

"I can relate to him." Travis murmured with his usual sly smile. "I am crazy for you." He said this in a husky voice, eyes baring his love for her and his face showed his gentlest expression.

Jillyanna didn't have a way to refute to his words and she didn't want to tease him either. Speechless beyond recovery, she just hugged him and buried his face on the crook of his neck and shoulder.

"Jill, why did you insist on having a baby despite your condition?" Travis asked her the same question that Dr. Alison asked her before. She didn't answer it back then but now, Travis wanted to know the reason, too.

"Despite knowing the risk, I want to have my own child. Before, it doesn't even matter who the father is. I had planned to run away, never come back and just raise the child on my own. Back then, all I can think of was to have my own baby. I want to become a mother. How would I know that I'd end up with you instead? My plans were ruined and now, I can't even separate myself from you."

"You don't have any regrets with all these things that happened to us?"

"Nope. I don't have room for regrets." She responded firmly.

Travis hugged her waist and kissed her forehead. "I won't let you regret anything either. I will always cherish you, love you and take care of you."

"I know that and I don't doubt your love." Jillyanna whispered beside his ear. "For you and for our baby, I will fight for my dear life."

They ignored Valkyrie for the rest of the ride since he was busy talking with Brown. Same went for Valkyrie, he ignored the love birds at the back seat because he was a third wheel at the moment.

When they arrived at the mall, Jillyanna and Travis dispersed all the negativity in mind. They walked hand in hand while looking around to find the children's department.

Since she didn't get to check her phone in the car, she just thought of the most important thing to buy. Other things can wait for later when she gives birth to her baby boy.

"What do you think about the white and green motif?" she informed Travis when they arrived at the children's department store. "I don't like blue, it's too common."

"Alright. Let's have it your way. If we can't find anything that you like, we can have it customized and ask for an interior designer to help us."

Like a hen pecking some grains, Jillyanna nodded her head several time with so much joy reflecting on her face. She checked the items happily and looked for the things that she thought should be a priority.

"Travis, look at this." Jillyanna showed him a crib with green posts and white cotton beds. The edges were rubberized and the walls of the crib were cotton as well to avoid hurting the baby. "Isn't this perfect?"

"Hn. I like it. During the first few months, we can put this in our room so that I can look after him as soon as possible. Then, we can transfer this to his room once he's old enough."

"Right! Our thoughts are in sync. What else should we buy? Oh! We need pillows and blankets for him, too."

From one thing to another, Jillyanna looked for different items happily. She'd grab Travis from time to time and show him the things she likes. They look so happy looking for things that some staff got envious of them.

Other couples would bicker back and forth as they chose the things they wanted but Travis and Jillyanna was so harmonious, buying things in consideration of their baby. Travis didn't want to argue with her as well, if she likes it then he'll pay for it.

"Is this all you want to buy for now?" Travis asked her when they were in front of the cashier, ready to pay for the items they chose.

"Yup. That's all for now. We'll get back here if I find something missing." Jillyanna answered while her eyes still roam around the place.

Travis turned to the cashier and handed his credit card to pay for the items. "How about baby clothes?"

"Hmm..we'll have to wait. For now, let's make do with the infants' clothes. We'll just buy another batch of clothes once he grow bigger."

"I see. Then, let's stick with your plan." Travis agreed even though his heart hurts when he thought of the possibility that she won't be there to buy clothes again.

Even though she acted strong and fine in front of him, he can't erase the worry in his mind. Her past image when she fell on the ground unconscious still haunted him. He didn't want to lose her.

Sensing that he's gone silent, Jillyanna turned her face to look at him. "What are you thinking with that awful face?"

"Nothing. I'm just worried about you."

Jillyanna sighed and took hold of his hand. "Don't worry about me. We'll get through it." she comforted him knowing that he's thinking about her heart again.

When everything was settled, Travis got his card back and gave the staff the address where they should deliver the items.
