Chasing After My Wife

TEACHER GABRIEL

4Jillyanna and everyone else went home after visiting Jackie and found that she was fine. Aside from that, they wanted to give them space and let them develop their feelings for each other. It wasn't that difficult to know that something was brewing between them, okay?      3

However, instead of going home to Jillyanna's house, they went to the hacienda where a private plane was situated at the back of the barn house.

"Hi Dad." Jillyanna greeted with Travis following behind her.

"Hello sweetheart. I'm glad you found time to visit this old man again." Thomas responded, giving her a light hug before turning to his son. "How have you been? I heard that you were absent from work this past few days."

Jillyanna blushed from his question knowing full-well why they were absent. Travis just shrugged his shoulders and sigh. "Jillyanna wasn't feeling well so I had to take care of her."

"Good good. Your wife should be the most important above all things." Thomas stated. "By the way, the plane is ready if you want to use it."

"Thanks uncle." Valkyrie responded with a smile. "We'll be leaving right after dinner tonight."

"Winter dear, are you really alright to go to Pantar?" Thomas turned to Winter who was being silently among them. Unlike before when she was full of energy and likes to chatter, the Winter now was silent and still aching.

Winter looked down on her shoes, lost in thought. "Aside from you here, I only have Gabriel. The person who never gave up on me despite all the troubles I caused him."

Everyone looked at her with different expressions. They didn't know what was going inside her mind but for sure, it was something not out of happiness.

"Will Vincent stay in the hospital and take care of Jackie? I mean, we just left her there alone." Shein mentioned which diverted their attention.

"Oh right! We just left her and we don't even know if Mr. Ruiz will leave. He's got work to do as well, right?" Brown added which gave them another problem now.

"What happened to your sister?" Thomas asked Jillyanna.

"She's hospitalized due to a small incident in the academy." Jillyanna answered without letting him know the details.

"I'll just stay with her and bring some food to her later. I won't be going to Pantar anyway." Brown volunteered himself. "Aside from that, I'm a doctor so I can take care of her."

"I agree. I wanted to stay with her but I needed to monitor Valkyrie and Winter at home." Shein stated which was true.

"It's settled then. Dad, we'll use your kitchen to cook food for dinner." Travis mentioned while holding Jillyanna close to him.

Thomas only nodded her head in silence while watching the young ones in front of him.

Valkyrie and Winter went to check the plane as well as their baggages. They made sure that everything's fine for their flight.

Shein contacted Lucian and Nik to know how the investigation was going.

Brown helped Jillyanna and Travis in the kitchen to prepare the ingredients needed to dinner. He also sent a message to Hawk and Savannah to come to the hacienda after work.

Only Thomas stayed in his room to relax and enjoy his alone time. He was contented to know that everyone was safe and intact inside his house.

"Vien..our son is happy now. He finally found the woman whom he treasured and who also treasured him. Vien, thank you for guiding him always. I know I wasn't a good father to him and I let him suffer since he was young. I am glad that you're there to make up for the lack of attention I gave him." Thomas murmured while looking at the picture of his wife, Venus.

When Venus was still alive, she would always argue with him for sending Travis to different places to attend different classes. He wanted to raise his child perfectly to the point that he's cold and emotionless. He was more like a robot who kept going to achieve the things that Thomas set for him.

Only Jillyanna brought color to his life. When he was young, he would always look forward to every weekends since he can visit the little girl. He didn't know what happened back then but Travis refused to come and visit her again.

Still, fate work their ways to let them met again. And now, they finally got married with a baby coming along in their life.

On the other hand, Gabriel was busy teaching Annie and the other kids. Since he couldn't do farming or fishing, he wanted to help the villagers in some other way. Thus, he ventured the path of teaching.

He taught them Mathematics, Science and English everyday from one in the afternoon until six in the evening. He also taught other children to read and to write since some of them never had the chance to attend school.

His daily life in the village became meaningful to him. This time, he finally washed away the regret he had in his life for staying and letting everyone knew that he was dead.

"Brother Gabriel, uncle asked me to give you this. We cooked this for today's dinner." Annie came in with three lunch boxes and placed them on the table. There was a box of rice, stir-fried vegetables and fried fish.

"Thanks Annie. Do we still have enough groceries for the next two weeks?" Gabriel asked her while taking the spoon and fork.

"Hn. We have a lot; and the other uncles and aunties gave us vegetables and fishes after you helped their children to study."

"I see. Next time, I'll teach you how to make a small vegetable garden for our consumption. I don't want you guys to keep going to the main city when enemies are still lurking around."

"Got it." Annie stated without the slightest hesitations. "I'll ask uncle to make a garden yard for me." she added with clear excitement in her eyes.
