Mark of the destiny

"No God didn't forget. He must be preparing a bigger gift for you. Just be patient. It will come for sure. Even my gift arrived late." Unaware to her, he looked up at the sky and squinted his eyes, sending a warning to the almighty.      

God frowned, 'Brat! I already send it weeks back. But the blind woman failed to see it. Keep me out of this. I'm innocent.'     

"Honey, can I take you as my gift?" Suyin's voice was soft, almost pleading the child like a child.      

He stopped pecking her cheek, "But I'm dad's."     

"So let me take both of you. Please."     

God, 'YES! That's your gift! Take it! Take both father and son, and spare me.'     

"Okay. We both are yours. Happy now? Now stop crying." Honey only said it to console her, and make her stop crying. Surely, she wouldn't be interested in taking them forever. When the crying mess in his arms would be sober, she would forget all this. Is it?     

Ha! No ways!     

"You two...." Their head snapped to the left and found Wang Shi standing. He let out a breath of relief. His eyes fixed on the two embraced in each other's arms, under the tree. "Stupid, idiots, fools, I will kill both of you....."     

A second later he dashed towards them and embraced them with all his might. Within the last few hours, he had seen hell on earth. Finally, he understood how much they matter to him. Not only Honey but Suyin. Imagining his life without any of them was impossible for him.     

Honey is his!     

Suyin is his!     

Both are his!     

His life!     

Standing not too far, Jianyu and Xiu Mei smiled. "Mei, that's Wang Shi's love story. You had always wished for love similar to ours, see, he got one." when she didn't reply he added, "Are you still angry at him?"     

"It doesn't matter. Just hope Suyin gives him a chance to explain." her gaze drifted to another two-person who followed them. Si Han and James.     

James rushed but Si Han stopped him. "Aunty, Susu, she needs us."     

"She's fine. Can't you see it?" Her words made James look into Suyin's direction again. The Suyin they know had always been sensitive to her baby. Had she known about it earlier, they can't even imagine what she might have had done. But here, she's not even calm and collected, but her expressions were soft as she hugged the two.     

One day she would make everyone pay. Surely she will. But the two humans in her arms were giving her hope, warmth, love, and something more..... maybe a future!     

Si Han gave a meaningful look to James, "She doesn't need us anymore. He will take care of her, and walk along in this fight."     

"Are you going to let her be alone with that man?"     

"If that's what she wants, I will." they turned to leave.      

"Aunty, do you trust him?"     

"I have seen his sincerity and that child..... he's a bad actor."     

"But aunty.... Ow ow ow...." he winced as Si Han pulled his ear, "Stop it you brat. Think about you and Evan. When are you making me meet him?"     

"Aunty.... please...."     

Suyin's gaze drifted around at the army of men in black. Wang Shi had turned his entire security to the graveyard. Their watchful eyes on them make her uncomfortable and she pushed him.     

"Treat them as invisible," he said and squeezed her back.     

But....     

Honey was watching them!     

And he's drenched!     

She pushed him harder. "Dr. Wang Shi... I-I'm fine."     

Honey looked up with a red face, out of breath. "Why did you smother me?.... Dad!!?? When did you come here? Did you hugg me just now?"     

Suyin was confused.     

 Honey didn't see anything!?     

Wow!     

"Yes. I wanted to hug you, but you were in Suyin's arm. So I hugged you like that. Why did you both leave the hospital?"      

"Long story. But can we meet our princess first?" he rushed to face the two tombstones. "You know dad, he's Aunty Suyin's baby. That's why she left the hospital."      

Behind him, Wang Shi held Suyin's palm but she yanked it, receiving a confused gaze in return.

Back in the hospital,     

"Ouch! Wang Shi put me down! Where are you taking me?" Wang Shi put her like a sack on his shoulder and took her somewhere after putting Honey in Xiu Mei's care. He needed to inject some sense in this woman's brain. ".... somewhere where no one can disturb us."     

She pushed her long hair back, only to see he was taking her to the new wing of his hospital yet to inaugurate.      

He touched his thumb on the lock and took her in. It seemed to be an office. Her eyes widened when she saw her nameplate on the desk. It was her office? She just asked for a small office when she signed the contract, but here he built a luxurious office similar to his.     

She yelped when he threw her on the bed and climbed on top of her, caging her in his arms on each side.     

"What was that, Suyin?" he pinched her chin, forcing her to look into his eyes. "Not only you put yourself in danger but Honey too. For God's sake, you are aware of the risks of driving in the condition you were in. Must you go there alone?"     

"I'm sorry about Honey. He was hiding in the--"     

"It's not only about HONEY, dammit!" he growled. "You are equally important. When will you understand this? Can't you see you have barged into my life, messed up with my brain, and this heart.... It's not mine anymore. I can't control it."     

"You think I'm any different?" she could feel herself giving up, surrendering in front of him. "You and Honey have changed me, giving me something to hold onto forever. But before I could even cherish it, all this happened....It changed my path. I-I--"     

He felt something different in her. An ominous feeling crawled into him. "You what? Say it."     

"I want to concentrate on finding the culprits behind my baby's death. Knowing Gong Li's fate, it's dangerous. I can't put your or Honey's life at risk....."     

"So...." he scowled, understanding where she wants to go. So that's why she yanked his hand! Hell! He won't let her do that.     

"Let's take a break from each other."
