Mark of the destiny

Wang Shi rushed to where Honey was admitted and saw the senior pediatrician examining him. His brows furrowed seeing the spiked heart rate on the monitor. His son was drenched in sweat, restless, twitching in sleep.      

"What injection are you giving him? Stop it." Everyone present breathed a sigh of relief seeing him coming in.     

"It's to stabilize his heart rate."     

"No need. Show me his EKG." he checked the paper strip with black lines running on it. His expression darkened. Honey's condition was serious, but it had nothing to do with him going out in rain. It's something else. Something familiar.      

A psychological trauma!     

Wang Shi pulled the oxygen mask from Honey's mouth and wiped the perspiration on the top of his lips, whispering softly. "Honey, hey bratty.... I'm here. Dad is here." gently massaging his chest. Since his condition resulted from the shock, coaxing him helps. Last time it did.     

Wang Shi had a hunch that caused this!     

He gave emergency medicines to bring the fever down and tried to stabilize his heart rate while continued talking to him gently.     

But nothing worked!     

It's shocking!     

"Hey, bratty, don't do this. I know we are stuck together for the rest of our lives. I'm not going anywhere. Neither are you." He continued coaxing. "Call Dr. He Jeff, NOW. Miya, arrange for Echo."     

Honey's body had accepted the donor heart completely, there's wasn't any complication. His condition was mostly related to his biggest nightmare that he would be separated from Wang Shi again. The last time when it happened it was because of the woman who gave birth to him and tried to barge into their lives.     

She didn't even hesitate to use Honey to get into the Wang family.     

It was then the little boy realized how disgusting a woman can be.      

Every woman is evil!     

They only want money and want to separate him from his father by using him as a ladder.     

He hated women!     

Wang Shi rotated the transducer around Honey's heart, his eyes glued to the monitor while Dr. Jeff examined him too.     

"Everything's working fine with the heart." He breathed in relief. Everyone does. All this while Wang Shi didn't even bother to look at the people present in the room and concentrated only on Honey.     

"Hm, but his condition is similar to the last time." He Jeff concluded, a little confused. "Wang Shi, is she--"     

"Not 'she' but this time it's someone else." Liu Jeilan gave a disappointing look to his son, Wang Shi. "It's the woman who took Honey outside amidst rain. Zhao Suyin, isn't it? Care to explain, how was she able to reach my grandson?"     

"It's not because of her. It's can't be. On our way back Honey was comfortable with Suyin, wrapped in her embrace, and scolding her for being careless to leave the hospital."      

Liu Jielan, "Honey did what?"     

"You heard me."     

"Impossible!" Honey hates being around women, especially those who dare to approach Wang Shi.      

"Believe it or not, it's up to you."     

"Xiao Shi-"     

Wang Huang placed a hand at his wife's shoulder and shook his head. "Shishi, what's between you and Zhao Suyin? Let me hear from you."     

Before coming here, he had inquired everything about Suyin and her proximity to his son. Truth to be told, it was a turnoff when he read about her past marriage, divorce, and child. She's not good for his son. She's not suitable for the prestigious Wang family.     

"I'm dating her." Wang Shi replied effortlessly. ".... and she's future Mrs. Wang Shi."     

Liu Jeilan gasped, she opened her mouth to say something but Wang Shi beat her to that.     

"I'm trying to treat my son, we can discuss my personal life later. I'm sorry, but not now." having said he turned to Jianyu who had an inadvertent smile because of Wang Shi's answers. "What happened? Where's Mei?"      

"She's with Nan." Wang Nan, Honey's cousin, responsible for the school incident! But what was he doing here?

"I did nothing. Trust me, uncle. It was not me this time." Wang Nan hides behind his grandmother Sima Yong's back and said. Crying.      

He had accompanied his grandmother Sima Yong to the hospital for her routine checkup, intending to play a game of 'Go' with Honey and learn new tricks.     

Not known to anyone in the family, he and Honey had been on good terms after the last incident and often played together with each other.     

Nan had to keep this a secret to avoid getting scolded by his father, who had been against Wang Shi and Honey.      

He had learned his lesson and doesn't want to become another version of his father.     

Wang Shi, "Tell me everything."

"Honey, listen to me. Just one game. The selection round for the Singapore tournament is after two days. Practice with me once."      

"Later. I have to check on someone first."      

"Who?"     

"Um.... a weird duck."     

"Duck? Is it your new pet?"     

"Naah! She..... she... She's cuter than a pet."     

After getting bathed, Honey rushed to see Suyin but couldn't find her in her room. "She's not here. I knew it! She never listens to the doctor's instructions. I will scold her harder. No! I'll deduct kisses." but for now he had to find her first. "Excuse me, can I borrow the tablet please," he asked at the nurse station.     

After returning, the first thing he did was to tie the hospital's band around her wrist. It had a chip embedded in it that helps to track the patients.     

"Found her! Let's go."     

Nan had a tough time catching up with Honey. The hospital was like a maze to him, but to Honey, it was his second home. Huffing, puffing, and catching breath, he lost him.      

"HONEY." Nan's voice echoed in the corridor, "Where are you?"     

His eyes flew open when he heard muffled cries from somewhere. Following the sound, he peeked under the large round desk facing the patient's room.     

Honey was hugging his knees, the earlier softness on his face was replaced by fear. He had grabbed his chest, panting. The pain was evident.     

Wang Nan's eyes flew open. "H-honey-"     

"NO! Don't come to me. Go away. I don't want to go with you. Go away." he shuffled to the corner, continuing to hold his chest.     

Nan became troubled by his reaction. There was no one in sight he could ask for help. "Y-You are scaring me brother. What happen?"     

Just as he touched him, Honey's body went limp, and Nan caught him in time. Instantly, he lifted him and brought him where he could get help.

"Trust me uncle, I'm not lying. Don't punish me."     

"I know." Wang Shi touched his head. "Aunty, take him home. He needs rest."     

Nan looked up, "But Honey."     

"He will be fine. Once he wakes up, I will ask him to call you." He turned to Xiu Mei, "Mei, can you--"     

"I'm already doing that," she answered, running her fingers on the laptop, scanning the CCTV footage.
