Mark of the destiny

I’ll talk to my baby on my own.

I’ll talk to my baby on my own.

0Suyin hugged him for don't how long and Wang Shi just let her do it. Sometimes a hug is all a person needs.

She pulled back and looked at his handsome face keeping her hands wrapped around his neck. "Two hours!? Don't do this next time." His smile that followed irked her, "I'm serious, Wang Shi."

"I'm serious too! You are my woman. What's wrong if I waited for some time to cheer you up?"

The rush of delight was overwhelming as she visibly struggled to give a reply. As usual, rendered speechless. Touched.

Without saying a word, she buried herself back into his arms.

He felt her squeezing him tight. "Don't be guilty, Suyin. While waiting for you, I finished reading some important journals. So, it was not a waste of time."

"I don't know with whom you are talking."

"The one in my arms. Barefoot." His tone hardened, "Where are your shoes."

"Stop diverting the topic."

"Look at me," he patted her back but she didn't respond. Stubborn. "….next time make sure you talk to me after answering my call."

"Huh?" she pulled back, "When did I—"

She paused, recalling the phone call she had received but didn't spoke to the caller. "Was that you?"

"Smart," holding her firm with one hand he opened the car's door and helped her in; then he took a seat beside her. He pulled out an insulated bag and revealed a lunch box, good enough for two people. The meal was still warm, thanks to the insulated bag.

"Yummy," she murmured, her stomach growled the same time, telling how hungry she was. It's been the entire day she had not eaten a morsel.

He laid out a napkin over her lap and then over his, "You skipped a meal, right?"

"You too. Don't fool me." She snatched the chopstick he had picked and throw it on the side before offering a piece of meat with her chopstick.

He shot her a look which brought a smile on both of their faces. He can always smile in her company. She's just…. She's just…. Sigh….

She's just 'she'

The one and only!

This was the perfect meal of their life. In the most romantic setup.

Car.

Dim lights.

Silence.

A pair of chopsticks.

A lunch box.

Two tired people enjoying a humble meal after work.

…..lots of happiness

…..and a silent love brewing within….

After a delicious meal, they stayed in the car. It was a customized car, Wang Shi adjusted the back seat so they could half lie down together.

With their fingers intertwined, they looked at the twinkling stars from the sun roof….

Oops! No stars!

They looked at the light bulb, but with each other, it was as if gazing at stars.

"Is everything fine at your side?" he asked, breaking the silence, and just got a nod in reply. She was awkwardly quiet. "What's wrong, Suyin?"

She exhaled, her heart sinking in guilt, "Don't you have anything to complain? Please do it. I have promised to take us seriously. But look what am I doing."

"What are you doing?" he remained calm, raising their interlocked hands to give a kiss at the back of her hand.

"As if you don't know."

"I don't know."

"Wang Shi!" she stared at him, astonished. It was just the beginning of their relationship, and he was not at all bothered by her busy schedule, by her not giving him time.

Instead of giving her a reply, he grabbed hold of her chin and kissed her. "Who said you are not taking things seriously? Sometimes a minute spend together is everything that's needed in a relationship. Time is not a measure of quality. Even if it's a single minute of yours with me or Honey, I cherish it. Got it?"

Suyin hummed a soft assent, still feeling jelly by his kiss. She scooted closer, placing her head at his shoulder, "Sweet talker you are. How do you do this always? Even Honey is a sweet talker. That little devil—"

She pushed herself up in shock and sat down straight, "Ah! I forgot! Where is Honey?"

"At Yuyu and Lan's home. Why?"

"Have you start sending him to school?"

"No. But wh—"

"Argh…. I'm dead! My little fairy must be disappointed by me." She tugged her hair, but the next moment pointed her finger at the man. "Listen. You've to send him to school from tomorrow. Let him wear ear-muffs, explain his teachers about his injury, appoint someone to be in school until he's there, let him carry a phone, and make sure the school doctor knows his case."

Wang Shi "…."

"Don't remain quiet. Say yes."

"Yes," He tried to pull her down, but she was jumpy.

"Don't say yes just like that. You should argue with me."

Wang Shi "…"

"Ok. Why—"

"Don't argue on it." She pinched his lips, "Two days back my little fairy had called me asking for a favor. I couldn't say no to him. Look.... If you won't comply, I'll fight. No, wait! I can't even fight, you are his father. Anyway, just go from here, Go go go…. Tell him I talked to you two days back, but you forgot."

Wang Shi "…"

She started pushing him out of the car, forgetting it was his car they were sitting in. "Don't stare at my face. Go talk to my Little Fairy... I just hope he'll forgive me and won't ask for deduction in kisses…. Ouchhh."

He pulled her down and caged her in his strong arms. "Quiet."

"I can't. My Little Fairy—"

"SUYIN," She stilled. "Honey will resume school from tomorrow. I'll take care of everything. But for now, you will sleep."

"Bu-"

"I don't like repeating." He had been worried about her after hearing her yell at her interns, and then suddenly forget about the call. On being asked from Daiyu he got to know she's even ignoring timely meal and sleep in her pursuit of work.

Her head rested against his chest, loving the command of his voice, but heart still stuck on Honey. Even Wang Shi's pat on her shoulder didn't work for her.

"Sleep. I promise to manage things with Honey."

She closed her eyes, much to his relief.

"Don't lie to Honey. I'll talk to my baby on my own."

She mumbled, shocking him how naturally she called Honey her baby. It was the sweetest thing he had heard.

"Yes, he's your baby. Only yours."

Murmuring, he kissed her on the forehead before grabbing the blanket he had prepared before.
